STRESNIL INJECTION is a potent sedative-tranquilizer that produces a predictable and consistent response in pigs. This fast-acting drug provides swine producers with an effective tool to reduce or prevent aggression and fighting when mixing and grouping pigs. Within a short amount of time after intramuscular (IM) injection of STRESNIL (15 minutes for young animals, and 30 minutes for mature animals), pigs are conscious, but are quiet and indifferent to their environment.

INDICATIONS:

STRESNIL (azaperone) injection is indicated for the prevention of aggressiveness when mixing or regrouping pigs. The drug is recommended for use when pigs from different litters or pens are brought together, since they often fight in an attempt to establish a social order. Following a single dose of STRESNIL, pigs may be mixed; fighting is eliminated or greatly reduced.
