Internal and external parasites, such as stomach worms and mange mites, are organisms that feed on a host animal’s tissue, blood, and tissue fluids and can interfere with performance. For Canadian hog producers, parasite burdens can lead to significant productivity losses if not effectively addressed.

Internal parasites can cause appetite suppression, reduced feed digestibility and nutrient absorption, blood loss, and anemia, which in turn can lead to decreased weight gain, weakened immune system, and tissue and organ damage.

External parasites can cause sores, scabbing, blood loss and anemia, and skin irritation, as well as acting as a disease vector. As a result, external parasites have the potential to negatively affect weight gain.

IVOMEC PREMIX is the only in-feed parasiticide available for the treatment and control of internal and external parasites in growing pigs and breeding swine. Its broad spectrum of activity helps eliminate gastrointestinal roundworms, lungworms, lice and mange mites.

Key Features:

  • Saves labour – eliminates handling of animals to administer parasiticides
  • Reduces stress on the animal
  • Wide margin of safety in all classes of pigs at any stage of the production and reproduction cycle
  • Proven performance from the pioneers of parasite control
