ITRAFUNGOL® ORAL SOLUTION
Oral antifungal solution for cats
DIN 02316811
Dermatophytosis, or ringworm, is an infection that invades superficial layers of the skin, hair or nails. Despite the name, it has nothing to do with worms – it is a fungal infection caused by dermatophytes. Microsporum canis is the dermatophyte believed to be responsible for more than 90 per cent of cases of ringworm in cats. Younger animals and long-haired cats, such as Persians, seem to be most affected. Ringworm infections are highly contagious amongst cats, and they are also zoonotic, meaning they can be passed from cats to people.
Cats with ringworm don’t display the condition in a consistent way. Some cats have minor lesions or no visible signs at all, while others have severe skin inflammation and scaling. Lesions are typically circular areas of distinct hair loss that occur on the head, ears, or ends of the paws. Because ringworm can present itself like other skin conditions, your veterinarian has a number of diagnostic tests that he or she may use to confirm its presence. Once a diagnosis has been made, there are a number of topical options available, as well as effective oral treatments such as ITRAFUNGOL.

How to Administer INTRAFUNGOL® ORAL SOLUTION
- ITRAFUNGOL ORAL SOLUTION should be administered directly into the cat’s mouth using the graduated dosing syringe provided with product.
- Consult the dosing information that comes with ITRAFUNGOL to determine the appropriate dosage for your cat.
- The dosing syringe shows graduations based on kg of body weight of your cat (e.g. selecting 1 kg on the dosage syringe delivers 0.5 mL of ITRAFUNGOL; selecting 2 kg on the dosage syringe delivers 1 mL).
- Fill the syringe by pulling the plunger until it reaches the graduation corresponding to the correct body weight of your cat, as indicated at the ring of the syringe (Figure 1).
- Treat the animal by slowly and gently injecting the liquid into its mouth, allowing the cat to swallow the product (Figure 2).
- When administering the product to kittens, be careful not to administer more than the recommended dose/weight. For kittens weighing less than 0.5 kg, a 1 mL syringe that allows accurate dosing should be used.
It is recommended that you administer ITRAFUNGOL to your cat without food (before they eat a meal).
After dosing, the syringe should be removed from the bottle, washed and dried, and the cap should be screwed back on tightly.
